Most of our preserved specimens have been processed in BIO-GARD, Connecticut Valley's low odor, low toxicity shipping and holding fluid.
BIO-GARD is a preservative which prevents tissue deterioration and mold in specimens that have been properly fixed in formalin. BIO-GARD
holds the odor of formaldehyde to an absolute minimum, resulting in specimens that are pleasant to work with. Keeping our customers in
mind, Connecticut Valley packs and ships all preserved specimens on each order by the most economical means possible. Specimens
will either be shipped in a container of BIO-GARD or dry-packed in plastic bags after being processed with BIO-GARD. (Due to the nature of certain
specimens, traditional preservation methods have to be used and these specimens are not available in BIO-GARD.)
